about the project

LIFE SCIENCE BUILDING CHILLER PLANT REPLACEMENT

This project involved upgrading the University of Georgia campus central energy plant for the Life Sciences Facility. This project required work to be performed during regular campus operations. Peachtree Mechanical was short listed during the proposal process based on past experience and abilities to perform projects in critical environments. Work included for this project was critical level excavation, high voltage duct banks, transformers, concrete and structural steel infrastructure for a new cooling tower system, renovation of an existing centrifugal pump room, and installation of 3 new mag-bearing chillers. Additionally, this project necessitated a complete design and build of structural steel, and 3 new cooling towers, as well as a new DDC controls system, new utility piping, chilled water, and condenser water piping. This project was closely coordinated and performed with the highest level of staff to assure the university a smooth completion free of interruptions to students or critical campus activities. This project was a success and completed ahead of schedule.
