about the project

DISTRICT ENERGY PLANT (DEP-1) HVAC REPLACEMENT

Peachtree Mechanical was entrusted to replace the 2,000-ton chiller, supporting pumps and cooling tower for District Energy Plant 1 at the University of Georgia. This increased the cooling capacity of the district plant. Peachtree Mechanical retrofitted the new chiller with the existing water condenser water taps. Demolition of two exhaust fans were completed for two chilled air handling units and two cooling tower cells were installed on the roof of the district plant. One 6,000 GPM Condenser water pump was installed to flow condensing water between the chiller and cooling tower while one 4,000 GPM chilled was installed for chilled water distribution to the campus.
