: UGA East Campus Utility Steam Line Installation

Peachtree Mechanical was awarded a contract to extend 2000 feet of high pressure steam, pumped condensate, sewer and storm piping from the University of Georgia’s steam plant to the Arts and Life Sciences building. This work included an extensive and critical task to directional bore two each 30” RPC bores under an existing railroad system and major campus highway. The two tunnel-bores were 250 feet in length each. The project was designed to provide utilities from the central boiler plant to the Life Sciences building. Peachtree also upgraded the Life Sciences building with new heat exchangers, pumps, and DDC controls. Nine new pre-cast concrete vaults for the steam pits were installed. Waterproof flashing was added to each manhole system. The project was completed on time and under budget.
